About WinDor & Our Products +
What makes WinDor different from other window and door suppliers in NZ?

WinDor is the only NZ supplier offering the four major European joinery systems (Aluminium, uPVC, Timber, and AluClad) from a single integrated specification team. Our products are manufactured in Europe by partners including Reynaers, Aluplast, and Neuffer, then specified, supplied, and supported locally.

What's the difference between Aluminium, uPVC, and AluClad Timber?

Each system has different performance characteristics, aesthetics, and price points. Aluminium is slim, strong, and low-maintenance. uPVC offers the best thermal performance and value. Timber provides natural warmth with traditional craftsmanship. AluClad combines timber inside with weatherproof aluminium outside. Visit our Systems pages for detailed comparisons.

Are WinDor products actually made in Europe, or assembled in NZ?

All profiles, glazing, and hardware are manufactured in Europe by our partner manufacturers. Final configuration, sizing, and glazing specification is completed in NZ to suit each project.

Do you sell directly to homeowners, or only to trade?

We work with both. Homeowners, builders, architects, and developers can all specify WinDor systems. Our showroom is open by appointment for design consultations and product demonstrations.

Performance & Compliance +
Do WinDor systems comply with the New Zealand Building Code?

Yes. All WinDor systems are tested and certified to meet or exceed NZBC requirements including Clause H1 (Energy Efficiency), Clause E2 (External Moisture), and Clause B2 (Durability). Specific test data is available in the Technical Hub.

What U-values can your windows and doors achieve?

U-values depend on the system and glazing specification. Our aluminium systems range from 0.9 to 1.4 W/m²K, uPVC from 0.7 to 1.0 W/m²K, and AluClad timber from 0.8 to 1.2 W/m²K. Triple glazing and warm-edge spacers can achieve even lower values.

How do your systems perform in coastal or high-wind zones?

All WinDor systems are designed for NZ's specific climate zones. Our products meet or exceed wind zones up to Very High, and we offer marine-grade finishes and stainless-steel hardware for coastal applications.

Are your systems tested for acoustic performance?

Yes. Acoustic performance varies by system, with ratings up to 45 dB Rw available on our aluminium systems. We can recommend appropriate glazing and configuration based on your specific noise environment.

Installation & Process +
How long does the process take from order to installation?

Lead times depend on the system and configuration. Standard products typically take 8-12 weeks from confirmed order to delivery. Custom or specialty items may take longer. We provide a detailed timeline during the quotation phase.

Do you install the windows and doors, or just supply them?

We supply the systems and can recommend experienced installers familiar with European joinery. For projects in the Auckland region, we can connect you with our network of approved installers.

What warranty do you offer?

WinDor systems come with a 10-year profile warranty as standard. Hardware and glazing have specific manufacturer warranties which we pass through in full. Detailed warranty terms are provided with every quotation.

Can your systems be retrofitted to existing homes?

Yes. Most WinDor systems can be specified for renovation and retrofit projects. We work with your builder or architect to ensure proper sizing, structural support, and weatherproofing details.

Cost & Practical Considerations +
How much do WinDor systems cost compared to standard NZ windows?

WinDor systems are a premium product, typically priced 30-60% above standard NZ aluminium joinery. The premium reflects European engineering, superior thermal performance, longer lifespan, and reduced maintenance over the life of the building.

Do you offer payment plans or finance?

Payment terms are typically 30% deposit, 60% on delivery, and 10% on completion. For larger projects, we can discuss staged payment schedules. We don't offer in-house finance but can recommend third-party options.

Can I see samples before committing?

Absolutely. Our Silverdale showroom displays working examples of all our systems. You can see the quality, operation, and finish in person. We can also provide material samples for design team presentations.

What's the typical return on investment for premium windows?

Premium European windows and doors typically improve thermal performance by 30-50% compared to standard aluminium, reduce heating/cooling costs, increase property value, and require less maintenance over their 40-60+ year lifespan.
